Five Paint Protection Tips
When the manufacturers of paint protection film finally developed kits for cars they expected that everyone and his brother would be purchasing them. Unfortunately, they were wrong. Even today, as sales have picked up, the vast majority of car owners don't use paint protection. That's a mistake if you want your car looking as good next year as it is today. If you're not using paint protection film on your vehicle here are five reasons why you should.
1. Longevity of Your Finish - Unlike many of the cars of the past, automakers are now constructing today's vehicles to be able to easily withstand 150,000 miles or more. But while the underlying parts have been drastically improved over the last couple of decades paints has remained pretty much the same. So while 15-year-old vehicles are still running just fine they look like a wreck. Paint protection film helps preserve your paint and slow down deterioration.
2. Protection Against Rocks and Other Debris - The open highway is not a friendly place for your grill and hood. Rocks and other flying debris kicked up by vehicles in front of you are just waiting to make contact with the front of your car and ruin its day. Transparent paint protection film protects your car from flying debris and keeps your car looking new, year after year.
3. Sun, Animals, and Insects - Nature has a way of being not so kind to our vehicles in a variety of ways. Parking in bright sunshine day after day wears on the protective finish and causes paint to fade. Animals, particularly birds, pose a threat with their droppings, the acidic nature of which eats away at the clear coat and right into the paint. As for insects, we know how miserable it can be trying to remove what's left of them after a long road trip. Paint protection film alleviates of most of these issues.
4. Careless Accidents - Accidents happen, we know that. How many of us have scratched the paint on our doors simply by missing the keyhole? Then there are neighborhood kids on bikes, postal workers with bags, and coworkers trying to "car doors while carrying coffee and computers. The world is an accident waiting to happen which is why you need to protect your paint with a film product.
5. Resale Value - Many of us buy brand-new cars with the intent of selling them 10 to 12 years down the road. One of the best ways to maximize your resale value is to make sure your car looks good. That's not to say you should not take care your vehicle mechanically, but when a car looks good it tells a prospective buyer that you have taken the time to care for it. Paint protection film used properly will most definitely add resale value to your vehicle.
